Quackers in Training Program (QT)
Our Quackers in Training Program is a pre-swim team program. This is a program for our youngest swimmers who are not able to swim to the 2nd ladder of the outside lane unassisted.
This program will meet:
8:30 - 9:00am on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
OR
5:30 – 6:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
You must choose one session only.
Please register for the Wait List and we will be in touch shortly about available spots.
This program will be limited in size to ensure that swimmers are safe and get a reasonable amount of attention and instruction, and registration will be on a first come, first served basis.
The group is typically limited to around 12 swimmers per practice, with a final number being determined based on number of coaches and other factors. To qualify, swimmers must be comfortable submerging their heads underwater and be reasonably independent in the shallow end of the pool. They may also participate in all swim team social events including the Awards Ceremony, the 8 & Under Age Group Activity, and the Team Picture.
See our event schedule here for the most up-to-date information.
This program is not intended to replace traditional swim lessons. It is a group practice focusing on building the skill and endurance to swim the length of the pool unassisted. The goal of the program is to get swimmers ready for the swim team, swimmer's will be continually evaluated throughout the year and will be given the opportunity to move up if they are ready. Please see the Head Coach if you have questions about if your swimmer is ready. If you have any questions about the program feel free to reach out!
Swimmers will have the chance to swim a “kickboard” race before all home meets and some away meets. The kickboard race is a super fun opportunity for our QT and 8 & under swimmers who are not quite ready to swim in the swim meet. It gives them a chance to feel the excitement of the swim meet and to get used to swimming in the big pool with the lane lines, while still being in the water with a helper to give them (and you) a sense of security! Some swimmer's depending on their ability level will be pushed to complete the 'kickboard race' with no kickboard.
